When there is "ultimate" written unto something, you assume that it is got to be a reference on which other works have to compare with. This has Mark Chatterton definitely achieved with his book. Here the reader finds all to the Irish aboveband U2 and what has happened in 25 years bandhistory in alphabetical order. On almost 320 there is lined on notes to the releases including the singles, remixes and videos, further on the tours and festivals, co operations with other artists, TV- and radioappearances and above that persons and places that are in connection with U2. Additional to that a complete listing of tours, awards, books and publications in the appendix.
The author points out and I can only support this, that you should not read the book from the beginning to the end. Furthermore you should leaf or straight look up things, follow the cross-references of the author and see where you land.
