Four young guys from Switzerland who are into Indie/Alternativ/Pop/Rock present here their debut album Cut Down Trees (We Need An Ark). Kapoolas´ music has a playful light and cheerful sound, they like experiments. The vocals sound like that, too. Besides seven songs with English lyrics they included a song in Swiss German dialect, too: „Kei Antwort“ (no answer). In my opinion the voice of singer Benj works better with the English lyrics as it is more impressive. Some compositions contain sound effects, e.g. keyboard themes the beginning of „Rewind And Repeat“ plus a repeated tone that sounds like a submarine echolot. And „And If The Rain“ features tender bells that sound like falling rain. Who enjoys uplifting music should get a „Cut Down Trees (We Need An Ark) CD rigth away. In case you cannot quite figure out yet how Kapoolas sound like, think of Radiohead, I´d say. Or just go to their hom page and find out for yourself.
