The first takes sound very similar to the early Bowie. Well, one of Walter Schreifels former bands was named Quicksand, and the sound of this album is very much like “Hunky Dory”, also like the early Kinks, like Bolan or Beck and the Flaming Lips. No more heavy sound anymore but melodic rock designed for acoustic concerts. This is an interesting development and it doesn't sound bad, but I prefer the original sound.
