The DVD consists of the live performances of the four line-ups in the Sonisphere festival in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2010. I recommend the 2-disc DVD to anyone, who is or ever was a fan of the living legends.

The first on the DVD is Anthrax, which was musically the best. The set list is enough to make almost any fan drool; “Got the Time,” Antisocial,” “Only,” “I am the Law” and the rest leave just enough room for the hardcore fans to bicker amongst themselves about which track Anthrax should have included. It was obvious to see that the musicians enjoyed themselves –thus performing as true entertainers- and there is not much more that one could ask for.

Megadeth had the ill luck of playing in the rain and it is understandable that the audience was quite lethargic in the beginning of the show; later on as the rain eased off, they became livelier, but the band never really did. Some don´t find it too disturbing, but most want more from a band, than that they just come on stage, play, and bugger off –and it was pretty much just that. The live audience, however, were not bothered by this at all, especially as the biggest hits came towards the end.

Slayer was a bit of a disappointment, mainly due to the poor sound. On the DVD was just like a live performance, where the drums, bass, and guitars had no problems, but the singer was barely heard. Other than that, any Slayer fan or amateur guitarist will be bound to love the show.

The best band of the entire show was Metallica. The whole band was really up-beat and handled the crowd like old friends (which they actually are in a way) and their set list was brilliant. There´s not much more to say about it, other than that it couldn´t have been better.

The crescendo of the entire festival, as well as the DVD is the point, where all four bands play “Am I Evil” from Diamond Head together on stage. I hugely envy everyone, who saw the show live as this truly was a once in a lifetime show. The only strange aspect was the absence of Tom Araya and Kerry King in this bit; hopefully it was due to the loss of voice or diarrhoea. The loss-of-voice-theory could be true, as Tom did come on stage, but just for the group photo right after the song.

Apart from all four bands performing “Am I Evil,” the bonus material is arguably the best bit on the DVD. It gives one insight to the normality of the musicians as real persons and the abnormality of their life on tour. Who would have known that they use their free time by sowing jeans and talking about their children “We´re bored with our music, so we just talk about our kids… We have already talked about music for over 30 years.” The reactions of the hardcore fans when they meet their heroes up close and personal, is priceless.
