Fans of the band have to prepare for a pretty dry season, because BEFORE THE DAWN will undergo massive changes after summer (personal- and music-wise), and they´ll play live only at Finnish Nummirock and Tuska festival (after-party). Another good reason why this edition should be part of your collection:
At the same time when the full-length album „Deathstar Rising“ came out, Cyclon Empire made Before The Dawn´s anniversary EP „Decade Of Darkness“ available outside Finland, and fleshed it up with a live DVD. The DVD menue is kept simple, you can play all the songs or choose any one of them, sound quality is great – if it wasn´t for this „raw“ live feeling and some tiny bloopers, it would have been way too perfect-clinical for me. Nothing to complain about the visual aspect – the festival atmosphere is captured well, camera and editing are OK and thanks to those close-up you can finally study Juho´s headbanging, Atte´s smile and his drum-antics or Tuomas´ tattoos a bit better. It´s cool that Lars´ comments were left unedited, because those make a part of the live appeal of this band.
Summing up – a must-have, because on the EP you´ll find one of the best BTD songs ever, and the DVD offers a special Best-Of package. A fan just would have wished for at least 30 min more live material...
