Violence, tits, ass, violence, violence, ass, tits, violence ... or something like it could recapitulate Crank 2 pretty well. In the continuation of the surprise success Crank Jason Statham plays convincing the ruthless killer Chev Chelios. This one had a poison in his body to fight in the first part. His chance of survival: adrenaline. Therefore he chased a kick behind after the other, resulting in a fall from the helicopter and Chev `s supposed death. Here follows from Crank 2 seamlessly.
Shortly after he landed ungently on the ground , a Van comes along. A few mysterious types pick up Chev, resuscitate him and pump him full of drugs. But his new obtained life has only one (financial) Purpose: he is a living organ storage. He have to watch, how his own heart is operated out of his body and is replaced by an artificial heart – to keep him alive for further surgery. But the next operation applies his testicles ... a fatal mistake. He can shake off his stupor and flees. Unfortunately, his artificial heart is tied to a battery, for which external sources of energy must be provided. In search of his real heart Chev must constantly refuel energy (he licks on car batteries, fingers in the cigarette lighter, while he is talking with a Mafia boss, rubs himself on an old lady, etc.). The chaotic hunt begins ...
Crank 2 is polarizing. Many are thinking the movie is violent, sexist, empty and trashy. I can only say: shame. The best action film of the year drips of irony and cynicism. If you take it not too seriously, you may notice how long the cops knock Chev down later, such as exploding silicone breasts or that the camera settings remind of an Ego shooter. Social criticism wrapped in brutal action. But not only action is in the first league, even in matters of creativity Crank 2 has something to offer. So, for example, the appearance of a lengthy fight with a Triad changes to black and white and the two adversaries become Godzilla-like giants in the midst of a small paper-mache town, in which sparks are flying around from the destroyed electricity pylons. Crank 2 goes over the top. Constantly.
Overall a very good film, which has no directly comparable equivalent so far - from the style most likely with a Tarantino. In any case - pure entertainment. Watch it.
