The story Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best thought thief – an extractor. He can smuggle himself and his crew into the dream world of a person or bring the person into his own dream world. Having the person there, where he wants him/her, he can steal the secrets from their subconscious. Thanks to his talent, Cobb is wanted in the treacherous world of the industrial espionage. This has, however a bad side to it too: he is hunted down through the entire world and loses everything he loves. One day he is given a chance for salvation: One last contract could help him back to his old life, but only if he manages to do the impossible, the so-called “Inception”. Instead of a perfectly executed theft, he and his team have to do the exact opposite. Their contract states, that instead of stealing an idea, they have to plant one inside a target. If it were to work, it would be the perfect crime. However no perfectly conceived plan or accumulated knowledge can prepare the team for the extremely dangerous enemy, who is always one step ahead. An adversary, who only Cobb saw coming.
The movie “Inception“ Armed with a diligently chosen cast, who we always love seeing, as well as an extremely difficult to imagine –and even harder to film- theme, Christopher Nolan created a masterwork. The fantasy runs amok and the toilet pause is completely disallowed –that is how exciting “Inception” is. The only recognisable weaknesses are the chase scenes, that could have easily been shortened by 15 minutes; which is the missing half point. None the less “Inception” is the most intelligent action-sci-fi-thriller, which I have ever seen. Whoever liked the first Matrix will love “Inception”.
