During their last video shooting, Siberian Jay have spared no efforts and even put up with frostbite, just to be able to present a great video to their song „Do you feel sexy“

Again the band came up with something special for their two new videos, and STALKER was there when Siberian Jay shot the videos for „Love of God“ and „I’m Holding“.
Day 1 Monday evening at the industrial area of Hernesaari in a big hall, the preparations for the video shooting of „Love of God“ begin, running many meters of cable, positioning spots and lights. Make-up is put on and boxes are put up from where soon the song „Love of God“ can be heard in a loop.
Hannes Pirilä checks his drum kit for the last time, before the director/camera man of this day Joonas Outakoski goes through the shooting planning one more time.
There is a special highlight in the video, professional dancers Katja Koukkula & Jussi Väänänen give a romantic and dramatic note to the slow song with their choreography.
Katja and Jussi were four times Finnish ballroom dancing champions, both work as dance coaches and choreographers for TV and theater nowadays. They just had several shows at Aleksanterin Teatteri in Helsinki with their own program „Aftertaste“.
Joonas films the set from different perspectives, he even aims high, or better from the hight of the cargo crane to shoot from bird view, and he did some tracking shots from the trolley which was manouvered by stage hand Eetu.
Band, dancers and crew are fully concentrated and motivated, so the first clip for « Love of God » is completed quickly.
Day 2 The second day takes us to Konala to a car wash to shoot the video for «I’m Holding ». Today it´s not Hannes´ turn, Illari´s Kengurumeininki band colleague and Apocalyptica drummer Mikko Sirén takes the drum seat.
He is not the only new guy on the set, the director/camera man today is Jani Toom, who had already filmed the „Do you feel sexy“ video.
Why filming in a car wash? Because you can get the guys wet to the bones. The first takes are ”shot dry”, but then it gets serious. Still everybody seems to have a lot of fun during the video shootings.
Especially guitarist Miika Colliander and bass player Lauri Hämäläinen when they can destroy Ilari´s old guitar.
Although the shooting doesn´t take long, it is definitely demanding to be in wet clothing all the time at such temperatures, and then getting drenched once again.

While Ilari poses for the « Special Effects scenes» in the video, the others can finally get back into dry clothing.

I´m sure that the results of those video shootings for «Love of God» and «I’m Holding» will be impressive. And prove that even with a tiny budget you can create great videos, if you have good ideas and the skills to realize them. Now all we need is some patience – we will keep you posted.
