For more than a decade Cryptic Wintermoon have been taking part in the dark scene and they seem to have heard literally everything related to this genre. That’s the reason why the album offers a variety of styles. The thrashy guitars dance to the sound of folk orientated fiddles, symphonic black keyboards join deadly blastbeats. In their beast-like moments, Cryptic Wintermoon are not far from the congenial Dissection or early Dimmu Borgir. Although the different elements never sound like they've simply been thrown together, the album lacks a bit of homogeneity. In addition to that the thin, one dimensional vocals get on your nerves. That’s why there’s only 6 of 10.
