„Resin“ is the already second release by one-man-project Koreopsis of the Swiss Johannes Real. All instruments (bass, guitar, programming) were recorded by himself and according to the press release he was also “singing the vocals”. There´s, however, not much “singing” on this record ´cause Mr. Real grunts his way through the whole mini-album, accompanied only by a brutal death-grind attack with occasionally interspersed jazz passages and synth sounds. What reads interesting on paper (or screen) sounds messy, chaotic and discordant on record and thus only with the last songs “Desert In My Eye” there´s, because of the synths, something of an atmosphere building up. The project has potential but maybe one should rather wait for the next release.
