Metalcore, referred to as the "New Wave of American Heavy Metal", is not hard to come by at the moment. Since bands like Killswitch Engage have been having more and more success, it was only a matter of time before more bands using a mixture of thrash metal and hardcore would spring up like mushrooms. So it's not surprising that there are a lot of newcomers on the scene. Among them Hell Within, who released their first self-produced album two years ago. These guys obviously know how to properly use their instruments and write decent songs. Especially the vocals on "Asylum..." are very interesting. They use distorted growling as well as clean singing. That mixture works very nicely, which is particularly noticeable on the opening song. The only point of criticism: after a while the music starts to sound too onesided and monotonous. Let's wait and see how this band develops in the future.
