Welcome to the surprise of the month! With their new CD “Atzelgift” Herrenmagazin gives us catchy Pop- songs with a long term effect. But it would be fatal to call the guys “trendy”, as they are not commercial enough, because of their impressive ideas and creativity. So the disc runs about 55 minutes in the long player with luscious, catchy and fresh- sounding riffs, giving at least a good impression, regardless the clichéd parts. Furthermore the material is supplemented by German lyrics, which normally do not impress me, I usually prefer English lyrics. Yet in this case I can only praise them. Wow! The instrumental section as well as the production did what’s necessary to blow the tracks powerful out of the speakers. Sometimes the fun-factor has you wish for many more hours of bewitchment.
