Eden weint im Grab is the one-man-band of Alexander Paul Blake. Four years ago he released his debut "Traumtrophäen toter Tänzer" via internet, which became pretty popular (and can still be downloaded on the bandpage), early this year the web-single "Krieg im Wunderland" followed. It was also a teaser for the second full-length recording, which is now available in stores in non-virtual shape.
Music wise the CD reminds of the early Dornenreich and also a little bit of Janus and - without their morbid contents - of Eisregen. Atmospheric black metal, mostly dwelling in mid-tempo, anthem-like structures. The excellent production and a high level of catchy tunes will probably upset the black metal purists, the lyrics are all in German, dealing with death and vanity in a Romantic concept. Check out "Undine (sey meyn Schutzgeist)" for a first impression.
