Although this band has only been around for five years, it has already developed into one of the greats of the metal genre. When the two Frenchmen Matthieu Kleiber and Lionel Vest started the band in 2000, their goal was to breathe new life into the metal scene by giving it some fresh impulses. Their debut album „Usual Tragedy“ caused quite a stir indeed: epic metal combined with classical symphonic elements, but without one of those 'front elves' singing the high notes. And this in the time of bands like „Epica“, „Visons of Atlantis“, „Mortal Love“ and whatever those bands are called that jumped into the whole Nightwish scene. It also works with a male singer. Compared to its precursor, „Raise“ is even more dynamic and mature. Hard riffs and abundant chorusses, combined with gentle string arrangemens. Melody and a hard sound in perfect harmony.
