The Dutch Black Metal band CARACH ANGREN explores musically the area of myths and legeds from the world beyond. Just like e.g. King Diamond´s "Fatal Portrait", “Lammendam” tells the legend of “de lammendam”, the saga around the ghost of a lady in a white dress.
This ghost story is dressed in orchestral Black Metal garment, but also complex Prog stuctures are noticeable. Violins counterpart brutal blast beats, sometimes it´s rough and thrashy, and some of the lyrics are in German language. Radio-play parts add to the atmospheric effect, and who finds Dimmu Borgir way too boring, should get hold of this one. But beware - sometimes I felt a cold chill crawling down my bakc, so I can only recommend to listen to this CD in daylight...
