This album deeply impressed even two of our STALKER reviewers:
Sometimes it needs some passes to enjoy a new record, but sometimes you are just bewitched from the first moment.
The guys from THE ETERNAL are the ones who bring us joy with “kartika”. Because songwriting, diversity and sound are a state of the art I was quite amazed, respectively amused that always some less known bands enter the stage to please us from the beginning!
Everything sounds harmonic and monolithic. Synthesizer as well as the vocals are not exaggerated, but insert well into the whole thing. By the way, there are of course some hooklines. The songs are mostly slow but fast ones are not missed at all. It is simply Gothic-Metal with a dosage of ambience.
The result is quick and easy: Cool band – cool album! (MS)
Listen up guitar lovers! Singer and guitarist Mark Kelson not for nothing has an advertising contract with ESP Guitars and Dean Markley Strings. He also is a very good singer, most of the songs are written by him and he even took part in the cover design, seems to be a multitalented guy. Though The Eternal come from Australia they have a contract with the Finnish record label Firefox Records, many reasons to look ore listen closer to this band and you surely wont regret! Who for example likes to listen to bands like Opeth for sure will enjoy this album. „kartika“ is on the one hand quite mainstream and on the other hand very outstanding. There are surprises waiting around every corner. My personal highlight is the orientally spiced track „Blood“ – I am very impressed! (KD)
