After several years of band history and a couple of EPs Synestesia from the Western Finnish city of Pori have finally released their first full-length studio album. On “Feeniks” you can hear typical, Finnish Death Metal without big surprises - growls, standard riffs, melodic solos, simple choruses, powerful drums but with Finnish lyrics for a change. The Finnish language is generally rather hard but poetic, the poetic side will, however, get lost on the Non-Finnish audience but there´s still the harshness that fits nicely to the here presented sound examples. What irritates a little bit are the female vocals that chirp along in one or the other chorus – one innovation element that they could´ve easily done without. Overall, quite alright and listenable but nothing new from the West of Finland, either.
