Germany`s best known pumpkin heads turn 25 years! Congratulations! As it is custom for such occasions, the band publishes a best-of. However, Helloween do things in style and thus don´t simply put out a cheap rip off of their most popular songs. Instead, to honor the anniversary appropriately, the guys from Hamburg came up with something very special. Eleven well-chosen classics have been completely re-arranged and now shine in new unplugged splendour spiced up with several “classical elements” like percussion, accordion, symphonic orchestras and choirs which have been added to the songs, making them really unique. The best example is “I want out”, which now features a children`s choir (sounds cheesy, but is actually fantastic) as well as the brilliant medley of “Halloween”, “The Keeper of the Seven Keys” and “The King for a thousand Years”.
At first most of the "new" pieces sound very unfamiliar so that you only get the aha moment with the refrain. Helloween easily manage to combine old classics with completely new composition. Cheers to the next 25 years!
