Besides the lively power metal scene and the blooming melodic death metal scene, there is also a lot going on in the modern thrash metal scene in beautiful Sweden, where bands like Carnal Forge regularly perform much to the appreciation of the fans. This time it is Scaar's turn to try and damage some vertebrae with their second album "The Second Incision". They aren't very successful at this, since the production of the album sounds almost anaemic, especially the guitar sound on the third track is so distorted that it takes away all the individuality of the songs. Singer Alex Jonsson is very strained and monotonous. Scaar would be really good if they let go of the throttle a bit and add some clean vocals to the screaming, like in „Spitting Morbid Cancer“. Sorry guys, you are all cool guys, but this here really isn't my cup of tea.
