The last years have been quite turbulent for Vader. The whole team around frontman Piotr ´Peter´ Wiwczarek was replaced and, because of this, the 25th anniversary of the band almost became only a minor matter. Surprisingly, Vader nevertheless released only great records, especially in terms of songwriting, precision and innovation. In the last years, there were no other bands, which were as innovative as Vader.
While the last releases had all some soundtrack feeling to them, due to their symphonic elements, these elements are now being reduced again. This makes "Welcome to the Morbid Reich" - like the title already suggests – more or less a back-to-the-roots album. Especially the faster songs like Only Hell Knows and Decapitated Saints (a cool new version of the old school track!) profit from this reduced instrumentalisation.
So Vader get back their punch without having to miss out on symphonic parts at all. Even if "Welcome to the Morbid Reich" is not as strong as the band classics Black to the Blind and Litany, it shows that Vader are back at full force. It should even bring some old school fans, who thought that the last releases were not Death Metal enough, back to the Polish guys.
