The album kicks off with a very nonchalant “Nobody Like You”, which leaves one wondering whether the rest is any good. Most wouldn´t make it through the second song. Later on there are a few things very clear: As far as their instrumental ability goes, they´re not bad at all. They produce some riffs and beats, which are simple, but catchy –at times, all of the instruments blend into each other perfectly. The next point of clarity is that the singer can´t sing fuck all. Every Hard Rock album has an obligatory ballad and their “That´s Why” is a bad version of a Bon Jovi song –it´s a miracle I survived hearing it through.
Whenever an album comes in for reviewing, one has to put the band´s production into perspective. Thus, for a hobby band, Dirty Lips aren´t total shit –in comparison to any professional band, they are purely inferior. As the caption implies, if they would do some drastic changes to the line-up, the possibilities are endless.
