Once upon a time: Janis Joplin meets Led Zeppelin. Or so. Who could like such a mix with a massive dose of blues in the package gets the grease rubbed fat into the engine block. Already from the first note on pure retro mood with a whimpering Hammond organ and versatile brilliantly played guitars rings out. To this comes the snotty rock voice. The sound is served punchy and clear.
Without further information immediately one could think about a sound technician who had mixed a previously unknown production from the 70´s coming from American-Britannian areas. Or is it a spilled session of stoned unnamed Jimi Page, Jon Lord, Grace Slick and Eric Clapton that has remained hidden until now?
The answer is no. The product is from Germany. What? No, can´t be. But yes, the production is new, comes from Würzburg and was recorded by two brothers, Oliver and Rio with singer Debbie, hard, bluesy and with the necessary phases of psychedelic flavour. 100% real shit - if today would be yesterday. So the album is a deep bow to the former way of life and musical feelings - visually supported in the cover and booklet by the illustrative hippie-painting.
Picking out individual songs from the album - for example, to point the fingers on riffs by Tony Iommi or bass lines of Jack Bruce - makes little sense. At best, you should completely just fall into this mood and enjoy the album as a whole, not making comparisons. The songs form a harmonic sequence in which there are no fractures, but develop a maelstrom, in which old bones might dream of ancient eras and young folks can think about if the times back then were not perhaps the better - for people who go on love, peace and rock`n´roll.
