I don`t know but somehow this new album from the San Francisico boys doesn´t really click with me. Nevertheless, I have to say that „The Dream Calls For Blood“ offers quite a few treats: Rob Cavestany plays one great riff after another, the pace varies nicely between midtempo and fast and the energy level is always at maximum. Death Angels also managed to compose three really hot songs, the title track, „Left For Dead“ and „Detonate“. But I still miss that certain something: too much average arrangements and not enough working hooklines. Sadly, I think that this album will not rotate very often in my stereo when this review is done. And that´s a pity because Death Angel definitely have the skills to write all time classics – just as they have done before.
