Dignity´s new album is available for a while already. But despite its high quality, many haven´t heard about it, reason enough for us to give it a review. Let´s start with some background information about the band itself: Dignity is an Austrian band (originally, they had a Swedish vocalist, now they are fronted by a Dane), which exists since 2006. The released their first and only album „Project Destiny“ in 2008. If you listen to their new album „Balance of Power“, it is quite obvious that this band has both ambition and visions. There are the great riffs and good drums, building the Heavy Metal basis of the sound. Then there are some typical Power Metal vocals and some varying keyboards on top. The latter are well composed but sometimes they are a little bit too much. So, with „Angels Cry“, for example, the keys are just too dominant and too noisy, making this song a total failure. But there are also a couple of highlights: „Rebel Empire“ (nice orchestral sounds but a bit too hectic), „Lion Attack“ (straight in your face) and „Shackles of War“ (great chorus, cool song) are really great songs. I heard worse stuff from much more professional bands! Although the tracks that I did not mention here are not in the same leagues as those three songs, „Balance of Power“ is a real gem from the underground.
