With „Up to Me“, the Swiss band, Sinplus, release their second album. After participating with their song “Unbreakable” in the Eurovision Song Contest two years ago, they worked on new music and out came a new album with ten great songs. The message behind the record is clear: everybody is responsible for his/her own luck and should believe in him/herself. That´s exactly what the two Broggini brothers did: neither harsh criticsm nor setbacks got them discouraged. The album´s first single is called “Phoenix from the Ashes” and represents the record perfectly. One can look forward to great pop-rock songs performed with a lot of emotion. To record this album, the guys, hailing from Ticino, went to London and recorded at the Snap and Gingerface studios. This new experience added some fresh breeze to their music, which is a good thing. With the help of Lady Chann, they also incorporated a few rap elements, to the Reggae-inspired song, “Love is Free”. The songs are, in general, softer than on the last record and are now definitely more pop than rock but that´s fine. Because with their songs, Sinplus bring good mood to the people and they spread a great message. Last but not least, singer Gabriel clearly worked on his vocals. All in all, a very nice new record from Sinplus.
