The phenomenal success of Nightwish pulls circles. And Visions Of Atlantis would surly not been existing without this musically delivery from the Finns.
The direction of the Austrians is clear: Symphonic, bombastic Metal with a female soprano voice, much keyboards and always melodies, which are, leaned to the role models from the north. To speak from a real copy would be unfair, because Visions Of Atlantis use the female – male singing more often than Nightwish. Still the association of Nightwish stays in the head the whole playtime. From this the direct comparison with the role model should be allowed. And therefore the Austrians lose for the song writing and the voice-comparison between Tarja and Nicole Bogner. On the one hand the bombastic, epic melodies seem to be shallower than the ones of the Finns. On the other hand Miss Bogners soprano voice is not so matured and voluminous than Tarjas voice and struggles sometimes in extreme heights.
You can only raise your thumbs if you don’t have difficulties with flat stereotypes.
