Quite refreshing to receive an album like this, as it’s not particularly common that such records are still made. Deadbird are heavy, raw, straight into the face. One gets the clear impression that their musical influences come from bands like Black Sabbath, Down or Crowbar. This is Southern Metal at its best with definitely no ambitions to hit the charts but with an extra heart, blood, sweat and dirt. Only the thin grunts of singer Chuck Schaak get on your nerves at least after four songs in a row as there is hardly any versatility in his intonation.
