It seems to be a trend that most of the new American bands are only able to play Modern Metal, which doesn´t sound different to that of famous bands like Linkin Park. So do Twin Method, who offers with “The Volume Of Self” their debut album. Although you can read in the band info that every member has had the most different influences – from Mötley Crüe over Megadeth to Green Day – the whole sounds quite uniform. And also the British roots of the sextet that comes originally from Liverpool do not change the fact that you must overhear the US-production. The record contains twelve tracks and there are few tries to put the music into an evil-individual coat (“Pedigree”, “Defeated”, “Twelve”). But these are only exceptions and from the rest of the songs all sound equal. Those who like cloned Nu Metal, will also like Twin Method, but all individualists should avoid getting this record.
