First of all you´ll have to give Hel a big thank-you, that they publish their third record at this time of the year. This acoustic melancholy that is transported through-out those 15 songs and inevitable pull down your shoulders would on darker days rather be responsible for one or another self-willed exit. From time to time the slow acoustic bustle with whispered spoken-vocals is interrupted by bouncy middle age melodies like e.g. on “Gedanken”. On “Tristheim” Hel mostly count on key, stringed or plucked instruments to create in the tracks some kind of tension. At last a quick word to the hardliners among you: This album is not for you – you cannot hear even a single E-Guitar here.
