30 years of stage experience, 24 CD, single and Best of releases – and in early 2012 Pretty Maids will put their first long-desired DVD on the market. For this special event also STALKER took the trip to Swiss Pratteln.
Is there any better way to spend a Saturday evening than attending a concert of a legendary Rock band? Danish Pretty Maids chose Z7 at Pratteln on purpose for this DVD, because as singer Ronnie Atkins told us, there isn´t any other place in the world to feel as welcome as here (see our interview ).
About 500 Fans, even some from Denmark, had come to Pratteln to attend this evening. Without support act, however, you needed to wait for a long time – it was 21h when Pretty Maids entered the stage and started with “Pandemonium” from their new CD. Fans had had the opportunity to choose the songs they would like to hear this evening, and “Yellow Rain”, “Queen of Dreams” and Hell on High Heels” made it to the Pole Position. Compared with last year´s concert I got to admit that the setlist was not that great, at least not in the beginning, but it improved with every song.
Singer Ronnie Atkins´ voice convinced 100%, as usual, although he has some troubles with the heights of some early songs. On Bass guitar Rene Shades who replaces Hal Patino, unfortunately only temporary. Which is bad because he fits nicely tot he band and draws a lot of attention with his style and charisma.
Mr. Ken Hammer appears on stage with a white hat and for the encore with a white jacket, keyboarder Morten Sandager smiles all the time, drummer Allen Tschicaja plays a short drum solo after „Queen of Dreams“. With „Love Games“ the Pretty Maids say goodbye to their fans after almost 2h. Those guys know indeed how to entertain their fans and how to keep a song interesting that they played a 100 times. A lot of sing-alongs and pyro effects rounded up the pretty perfect show of Pretty Maids. They could not have picked a better location for the recording of this DVD, therefore you have something to look forward to in 2012 – the Pretty Maids Live DVD/CD from Pratteln.
