Since the last STALKER live-review about Santa Cruz, a lot happened in the lives of Archie (Vocals and Guitar), Johnny (Guitar), Middy (Bass) and Taz (Drums). The quartet has its own events series now in the venue "On The Rocks", with various special guests. For the big "EP & Video Release Party" this Club seems to small, therefore the band returned to the place where they shot the video, Bar Bäkkäri.
But first of all, Archie addresses the audience and makes them laugh while he has to struggle with the technical quirks of the microphone. After that, the world premiere of their first video "Anthem For The Young`n`Restless" follows, on the huge screen on stage. Directed by Juha Hanhinen, with some illustrious special guests such as Jussi69 (The 69 Eyes), Sammy Aaltonen (Private Line), Baton Rogue Morgue and TV and radio personality Jone Nikula. The result can be admired here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T83BTgVEa00. Right after the video world premiere, the video screen is pulled up and Santa Cruz - who were standing behind it - start their show with "Let`s Get The Party Started".
Next to the opener, all other songs of their brand new EP like "Anthem For The Young`n`Restless", "Don`t Run Away", "Hostile Shakedown" and "Over The Limit" are played and like their previous EP "Another Rush Of Adrenaline", also "Anthems For The Young`n`Restless" might be completely sold out very soon so who wants to have his / her own copy of it, should hurry up. And talking about their first opus: Only "Sweet Sensation" and "We`re Aiming High" are performed; the rest of the setlist comes up with newer songs like the catchy "Let Me Lay My Love On You" and "Set Me Free". As a matter of fact, the latter is a brand new track which had its live-premiere just two days ago; all the more it`s surprising that the whole bar seems to know the track already; they are able to sing its lyrics along! Or have I missed something? I mean, it pretty much sounds like Guns`n`Roses. Not to say: Quite similar to "Paradise City"...
Some VIP guests attracts attention, e.g. Reckless Love singer Olli Herman and his fiancée Noora, the latter especially when she presents herself topless while celebrating Santa Cruz. Another and maybe more effective way to pay tribute is chosen by ex-Suicide Hotline-frontman Tommy Raw: After the set he storms the stage, grabs the mic and doesn`t give in until the guys come back and play Billy Idol`s "Rebel Yell" as an encore. Yes, "The Party Ain`t Over `Til We Say So" - Thank you, Tommy!
