The 8. KALTENBACH OPEN AIR in Austria will be back to its old location at Kaltenbachgraben, right in the middle of the Alps from July 15-17, 2010, with a line-up including DYING FETUS, DARK FUNERAL, ASPHYX, PRIMORDIAL, ABORTED, SHINING, HOLY MOSES, KEEP OF KALESSIN, INCANTATION, HOLLENTHON, DARKANE, MÅNEGARM, SUICIDAL ANGELS.
STALKER interviewed one of the organizers Thomas Spiwak, who pointed out that „behind KOA is no professional company but just four Metal fans and many volunteers who put their energy into it, year after year, in order to bring some more Metal in form of an Open Air to Austria!“
Briefly the basic information to KOA 2010:
Due to the flooding problem last year, the festival will be back at its old location at Kaltenbachgraben, where only 2000 people can fit in.
Therefore ticket sales will be limited to
1.700 Festival passes
and 300 day tickets
Spiwak comments complaints about higher ticket prices compared with Germany or Czech Republic: „It is simply a fact that Austria does not have the advantage of the German market, and in CZ prices in general are lower than in Austria. Our calculations are very tight,“ and the points out that 52 € for a 3-day-festival is perhaps not that unreasonable.
Festival pass: advance sale 52 € / at the area 54 €
Day ticket: advance sale 32 € / at the area 34 €
ADMISSION FREE on Thursday July 15, 2010!!
The camping area will be equipped with a stand for beverages, and the catering supply in the festival area will be more diverse. Yet using the street areas for camping will no longer be allowed, those are exklusively reserved for parking services.
