Delain: Music is pure emotion
Delain is a Dutch gothic rock project initiated by (ex-Within Temptation) keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, featuring a number of guest musicians, e. g. Marko Hielata (Nightwish, Tarot), Liv Kristine (ex-Theatre of Tragedy, Leaves´ Eyes), Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) or guitarist Ad Sluyter (Epica). DEVILDRIVER and GOD FORBID: A workout with the bands
An interview double feature, and this is how it happened: A backstage room somewhere in Germany and a lot of sweat (but no beer) due to some serious martial arts workout by a little man with a big voice named Dez Fafara, frontman of modern Thrash aficionados DevilDriver, had some European dates on their current road trip with melodic hardcore metallers God Forbid. Diamond Head: From the bedroom
When legendary NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) was celebrated with a 25 year anniversary gig in London, one of the movement spearheads, recently reunited, headlined the show: Diamond Head. (This show is captured as live album "It´s Electric" and their first ever official DVD 2006). Despite their long history - since 1976 - and their important influence on various Metal bands, most people might only know them via Metallica covering their songs in their early career, e.g. "Am I Evil". After the release of the new album "What´s In Your Head?" in 2007 and the re-release of their back catalogue, Diamond Head also hit the road again, playing at many European summer festivals. Diamond Plate: „The energy is like no other“
Once again a note from the US-Metal underground: Diamond Plate, a thrash band from Worth, Illinois, founded in 2004 and building a reputation as absolutely raucous live act, have only recently signed to Earache Records. They´ll release their full-length debut album called „Generarion Why?“, produced by Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Nevermore, Deicide, Judas Priest, etc.) in August 2011.
