As the album title suggests, Ingrimm provides lyrics in German language only, and their own definition “Medieval Metal” is very good one. Subway To Sally go Thrash Metal, or Extreme-In Extremo. But this is not meant as an insult, because those four guys from German Regensburg have a feeling for this exciting mixture of speed drumming, thrashy guitars, rough vocals – partly even Death Growls – and medieval instruments (bag pipe, flutes etc), and their sound is extremely catchy. The opening track “Sag mir nicht” will already hit you right-in-the-face... Although their lyrics have this medieval touch and are partly in Latin language, the topics remain down-to-earth and critical – no way-out fantasy themes - a good example is the title track, “Vagantenlied” or “Der Sturm”. Summing it up, Stephan “Fenris” Zandt (voc), Alex Haas (git, b), Klaus Rosner (dr) and Christian Hadersdorfer (bagpiges etc) present a very good debut album I can only recommend.
