With A Mind´s Chronicle, another debut album has come before our eyes and ears. Infinita Symphonia, who have devoted themselves to prog power metal, were formed by singer Luga Micioni and lead guitarist Gianmarco Ricasoli in Italy in 2008. Besides the two founding members, two more musicians belong to the quartet, bassist Alberto De Felice and drummer Luga Ciccotti. The Italians also managed to reel in some musical support worth mentioning: and thus you have some guest appearances by Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Malmsteen) and Fabio Lione (Rhapsody Of Fire, Vision Divine) on this record.
But now to the music. Singer Luga Micioni reminds me here and there (from the sound of his voice) of Nevermore singer Warrel Dane. There are some moments, where I don´t really like his vocals but generally, he very well knows how to best get his vocal chords to vibrate. Musically, the guys from Rome are in top form: beautiful, melodic compositions run like a golden thread through the whole record – there´s no single second of boredom. Every song is placed exactly at the right spot on the tracklist and so you simply want more and more and more. A brilliant debut.
