Despite snow chaos, Heidenwahn Festival took place (despite snow chaos) for the first time in Deutschlandsberg, Austria, Lassnitzhaus, with bands like VARG, NEGURA BUNGET, MINAS MORGUL etc.
Organizer Martina Panzenbäck Blood Red Horizon (also ´Bloodred Horizon Records´ which was founded in 2004 and featuring Black-, Pagan-, and Deathmetal acts) is positive that Underground festivals will find a lot of audience also in the future, first because "there is not much going on in Austria",
and because "Heidenwahn" takes place in a small location (max 300 people) in an area where hardly any concerts and festivals are happening. Moreover, "we are close to Slovenia, and naturally we have the contacts to bands and sponsors. Our marketing situation is good, thanks to our label street-team (and a big thanks from us to all the people who support us)".
Although Pagan- and Black Metal is rumoured to be infested with Nazi-ideology, Tini points out that she doesn´t want to be part of a witchhunt, because "those symbols have been used for a long long time, not just since that day a very stupid man misused them for his own purposes". Yet she strictly excludes politics from music and won´t support any band that features right-wing ideology: "In our contracts this is even a clause to immediately cancel the deal."
Tini hopes to continue organizing Underground festivals, and to see YOU at Heidenwahn festival.
