German Hardrockers BERSERKER will donate 18.000€ to the Berlin cancer charity for children on May 25. November 2011 BERSERKER front man Schröder was diagnosed with cancer, now he is cancer-free. In 2012 the band collected money for this charity at their concerts and will also continue to do so in the future. Slayer´s Jeff Hanneman is dead: he passed away at about 11AM on May 2nd near his Southern California home because of liver failure due to an infection after a spider bite. R.I.P. Jeff!

Once it was Jesus who resurrected on Easter, nowadays it`s The Doors and Type O Negative. Well, let`s stick to The Doors respectively their frontman Jim Morrison who not really resurrected on Good Friday at "Sture 21", but whose songs were performed successfully by Henkku. Henkku is the vocalist of the The Doors tribute project "Dionysian Band". That`s pretty much everything you can find out about the five Finns from Helsinki (Unlike the original, the cover band has a bass player), but the point is anyway to pay tribute to one of the biggest and most influential bands of all time - and not to replace or even top the original...
Therefore Henkku also doesn`t try to copy the look of Jim Morrison at all. A fact that pleases us a lot. It starts with "Roadhouse Blues" and while there are a rattle or a tambourine in use every now and then, the audience is dancing boisterously and the bar probably increases its turnover by selling alcoholic drinks like hot cakes. And, yes: The Dionysian Band doesn`t play safe by performing only the big radio hits such as "Riders On The Storm", "Love Me Two Times" and "Touch Me"; the setlist also covers songs like "Queen Of The Highway", "Back Door Man" (Actually a composition by Howlin` Wolf), "Love Her Madly" and "The Unknown Soldier". Although "People Are Strange" is demanded from the audience, we unfortunately have to wait for it in vain. Therefore there are two other felicitous encores after "Light My Fire": "Break On Through (To The Other Side)" and "L.A. Woman".
Creating the live atmosphere of a The Doors concert as authentically as possible, that`s the ambition of the band - and they succeed. But for some reason, there is a TV on at the back of the bar, during the whole gig. And as you can sit on cushioned seats during concerts at "Sture 21", the whole event has rather a living room than a live concert atmosphere. Well, it`s ok, `cause who can say that he / she has spent Good Friday in the living room with Jim Morrison? Right: Hardly anyone.
