German Hardrockers BERSERKER will donate 18.000€ to the Berlin cancer charity for children on May 25. November 2011 BERSERKER front man Schröder was diagnosed with cancer, now he is cancer-free. In 2012 the band collected money for this charity at their concerts and will also continue to do so in the future. Slayer´s Jeff Hanneman is dead: he passed away at about 11AM on May 2nd near his Southern California home because of liver failure due to an infection after a spider bite. R.I.P. Jeff!

For over 30 years Pretty Maids have been an enrichment of the Hard Rock scene, creating classics like “Savage Heart”, “Yellow Rain”, but also the new songs like “Little Drops of Heaven” or “Pandemonium” prove their skills. “It Comes Alive” is the first release of a fully recorded Pretty Maids gig. For this special occasion they chose the Z7 in Switzerland, and fans from far and wide had gathered to make this evening truly unforgettable. The DVD shows the full-length concert and contains also songs which the Danes have only rarely played live. The sound and footage quality leave nothing to be desired, pin sharp pictures, clear sound and a awesome show got captured on the DVD. The changes between the shots happen sometimes a little bit too fast, but that is a question of taste. Moreover, the DVD contains a 40 minute long documentary movie showing how the band members prepare for the show and their perspective of it. Guitarist Ken Hammer caters for the one or the other laughter. One can find out how the Maids experience each other and also that they, after 30 years of stage experience, still experience stage fright. Just first class material which couldn’t have been done better. So hopefully to the next 30 years.
