German Hardrockers BERSERKER will donate 18.000€ to the Berlin cancer charity for children on May 25. November 2011 BERSERKER front man Schröder was diagnosed with cancer, now he is cancer-free. In 2012 the band collected money for this charity at their concerts and will also continue to do so in the future. Slayer´s Jeff Hanneman is dead: he passed away at about 11AM on May 2nd near his Southern California home because of liver failure due to an infection after a spider bite. R.I.P. Jeff!

There´s twisted, more twisted and then there´s Tim Burton. The creep-comedy "Dark Shadows", which is based on the series by Dan Curtis, has all of the elements needed for a Tim Burton film. The scenario is held gloomy, blue and colourless. Depp and Bonham-Carter (whom´s biggest fan is her husband) amongst others do the acting, Danny Elfmann produces the music and the story is morbid -similar to Sleepy Hollow- with a lot of comedy, without going inane.
The story is about the family Collins, which immigrants from Liverpool to America to set up and build up their fish-empire. They founded the city Collinsport in Maine, where they enjoy their famous and mighty position. A maid falls in love with the son of the family, Barnabas, and their dalliance goes on until he finds his true love. The problem is, that the maid, Angelique, turns out to be a witch and she wants revenge. She curses him with eternal existence as a vampire and kills his loved one. As if that wasn´t enough, she rallies the inhabitants and gets Barnabas buried alive in a coffin. Two hundred years later, the coffin is digged up at a construction site and opened.
Freed from his grave in 1972, Barnabas finds his former glory in a miserable state and his return is not that lucky. The vampire decides to become a member of the family once again, returning them back to their old riches and to stop the witch -who owns the entire city- and to win over his newly born love.
In conclusion, whoever likes Tim Burton will love this movie! An absolute admonition.
