Incredible what Edge of Thorns offer with their second studio album, pretty much everything that a Metal heart longs for: very powerful Melodic Metal with epic influences, featuring speedy extremely heavy guitars, powerful drumming and keyboard melodies. The vocals are fascinating and diverse, you can hear Death Metal growls as well as powerful scratchy Metal style sung by a deep devilish male voice. The CD is a compilation of ear candy that will stick in your brain and invite you to sing along, it´s impossible to sit still listening to that. Guest musicians are Piet Sielck (Iron Savior) and Bernd Aufermann (ex-Running Wild). „Bleeding Hearts“ and „Captured“ are in my opinion the highlights, and „Life“, rounding up this great album but unfortunately only lasting 1:48 min, would have had the potential to become a beautiful catchy ballad. Great album, you should add it to your collection.
