The musical actors of Theatres Des Vampires have been showing off a bloody spectacle since 1994. Inspired by Anne Rice and her dark literature they create a - self-made - sub genre with all thinkable cliches. Vampir Metal: church organ, keyboard bombast, singing violins and powerful tunes plus the variable voice of Front-Diva Sonya Scarlet, between erotic whisper and characteristic irritating sad chanting.
Their latest CD „Anima Noir“ continues their black chronology, again the Italians revere their creators from the Carpats in theatrical, sometimes overdone manner. Dark melancholic and heavy songs, like the aggressive „Unspoken Words“, the seducting „Rain“ or the desperate „Dust“.
More than once they cross over to being pathetic, but this should not scare off genre fans. Who still needs the perfect soundtrack for gothic nocturnal sight seeing should get this one.
