This debut album from the guys from Budapest was already recorded in 2006 but you can´t hear that at all because thrash metal is simply timeless. What you notice most on this record are the diverse vocal styles ranging from growls over almost black metal like guttural grunts to haunting whispers, here Archaic can almost compete with Trevor Strnad from Black Dahlia Murder. And to top it all, there are even almost opera-like tenor vocals on the song “Memories”, the only song that is a bit slower than the rest. All other songs are fast & furious with merciless drumming, memorable riffing (here “The Archer” stands out the most) and melodic soloing. A great debut album which whets the appetite for the new album that the guys are recording at the moment.
