Total run time

It´s a bit more than 2 years since Blackie Lawless unexpectedly lured with a great album "Dominator" also those people back to purchasing it, who had not been impressed enough by recent W.A.S.P. works to buy them. Therefore a maniac like me had a hard time to wait for "Babylon", and finally I have this masterpiece rotating in my player. Decorated with beautiful artwork and featuring a powerful sound, it will capture you immediately with the superb opener "Crazy". So would Blackie again pull it off and offer another great album that will silence all critics? The answer is unfortunately "no".

"Babylon" is another very good W.A.S.P. album but cannot continue the power, tension and ingenuity of the predecessor. This CD is rather to be compared with the class of "Dying For The World" or "Unholy Terror". This might be enough for the die-hard fans, but all the others might find it a pretty good but still not entirely satisfying album. Besides those highlights "Into The Fire", "Live To Die Another Day" and the ballad "Godless Run" there are simply too many W.A.S.P. Standard songs. Considering those two cover songs (Deep Purple´s "Burn" und Chuck Berry´s "Promised Land"), it´s only 7 original new songs on the CD, which isn´t really impressive either.

Summing up, "Babylon" is a reliable, good and typical W.A.S.P. album but not as brilliant as the previous one and not containing hits like "Take Me Up", "Heaven´s Hung In Black" or "Heavens Blessed". For die-hard fans nevertheless a must.

Who wants to check out the songs performed live, check out the dates of the ongoing tour (our tourdates)!
