German Hardrockers BERSERKER will donate 18.000€ to the Berlin cancer charity for children on May 25. November 2011 BERSERKER front man Schröder was diagnosed with cancer, now he is cancer-free. In 2012 the band collected money for this charity at their concerts and will also continue to do so in the future. Slayer´s Jeff Hanneman is dead: he passed away at about 11AM on May 2nd near his Southern California home because of liver failure due to an infection after a spider bite. R.I.P. Jeff!

James LaBrie's regular band Dream Theater belongs to one of the most experienced in the genre. Fans thatgot lost in the complex build up of the songs and the endless self-portrayal of the instrumentalists, may not have noticed the quality of the vocals. On his solo album the Canadian spares us the extreme fidgeting of his colleagues and on "Elements Of Persuasion" he present us with some enjoyable, comprehensible songwriting and catchy compositions, that have a varied, modern hard rock sound to them. Only the voice of Mr LaBrie connects the songs, of which the catchy opening song "Crucify" sticks out especially. There are some good songs like "Freak", but there are also many mediocre songs on the album. The intellectuals among you will certainly appreciate the lyrics, which stand out in word choice and metaphores and deal with the outside influences on our existence.
