When leaders of the international Black Metal scene, like Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir) and King (former Gorgoroth) are gathering companions from other bands like Satyricon, 1349 or Enslaved to attack all Christian values, you can expect great things. Hard to imagine: the atmospherical brilliancy of Dimmu Borgir combined with the harsh brutality of Gorgoroth.
But what wanted to be a new regime in hell, is actually only the mayor of the garden of hell. The eight tracks are all quite brutal, but in fact they are quite simple written and structered. It seems as King has taken all riffs of Gorgoroth, which were considered to weak for the use in Gorgoroth songs, and put them into theses tracks. And atmospherical parts are anywhere at all.
All in all, ``The Underwolrd Regime`` is just an average Black Metal release, which neither brings new elements into this genre nor erases any borders of the genre.
