Finally hereīs a proof that there are some talented bands in the Western part of Switzerland, too. With their self-titled album, Blackwell from Biel release a solid and brutal hardcore record. Those who like moshpits should definitely check out these guys live. The songs itself are rock-y compositions and singer Rob Miola adds his brutal-heavy vocals to it. Itīs pretty obvious that this band has a lot of potential both musically and vocally.
On the other hand, itīs also obvious that you canīt hear any differences between the single songs and sooner or later you get the feeling that the album simply passes by without leaving anything behind. Furthermore, it feels like you have heard that kind of stuff somewhere else before. Like the music also the vocals sound the same everywhere, thereīs no versatility in Robīs voice. If those guys still work on writing more eclectic songs and finding their own identity then I think they have a bright future ahead.
