On “Reborn In Fire” EMPIRES OF EDEN are refusing any genre definition, the label “Progressive” probably fits best, because those Australians have their nine songs ranging from Melodic to Power Metal, from Ambient to Fusion. Therefore the result is comprehensible and wicked as well (“Enter The Storm”). “Reborn In Fire” is very powerful, especially when the guitars are taking the control and the vocals are reduced. The vocals are very differentiated and therefore optimally fit to the complex music and totally contribute to set the mood, which ranges from extremely aggressive to dreamy. It seems difficult to describe “Reborn In Fire”, with this album EMPIRES OF EDEN are deliberately position themselves between all genre stools and will find their fans in all the different scenes, as long as those fans have a faible for complex, atmospheric music.
