Neither the bandname nor the cover artwork would have awakened my interest if I had found this CD in a record store. Now, after I have listened to it I have to say: Nothing has changed this fact! "Wir Sind Ready To Fight" [We are Ready to Fight] offers exactly what the album title already suggests: Loud, annoying... Punk?!? And all that - as you can guess by the band`s name and the title of the album - in German language. That doesn`t have to be a bad thing in principle, by no means, but in case of Übergas it isn`t good, either -- at least in my opinion. The lyrics sound like someone is still stuck in puberty, the music, overall, sounds hysterical... The only (positively) surprising things are the beginning of some songs, which promise a Nu Metal track at first, even some Slipknot seems to come through, but unfortunately, this changes right after. The only exception is the second song, "Das Beste Aus Zwei Welten" [The Best from Two Worlds], which maintains the Slipknot sound till the end... If the singing only would have been in English... Oh, it could have been a very good song! Well, for those who don`t mind German lyrics, it could be a good song already.

In the final ballad "Immer" [Always], the guys change style and suddenly sound like Lotto King Karl. Those who don`t know him: He`s a local hero in Hamburg who isn`t even well-known in whole Germany but very able to sell out arenas of the Hanseatic City constantly. Übergas are from Hamburg, too, but whether they are able to become local heroes one day or even sell out arenas...? I pretty much doubt that. At least, this record won`t help them to achieve this goal.
