Admittedly, the description of this band sounds as interesting as it sounds crazy. According to the band itself, Defcon play 21st century rock´n´roll. Which means, in their case, the synthesis of rock and disco.
At first, I´m a bit sceptical whether this can really work. But already with the third song Dance, Narcissist! Dance!, which was at the beginning of the year released as a single, I´m convinced that this mix is really meant to be. What you get are lively, cool songs that still have that certain edge.
The Austrian fivesome could maybe be put into same category as The Killers etc because their sound is really young, sassy and fresh. And with it, they are probably rather after the younger audience. So, if you want to know what happens when you cross disco and rock music, just check out the band´s MySpace page. I can only recommend it.
