The Rain I Bleed exist since 2008 and were founded by Singer Mina, who is also responsible for the music and lyrics of the band. The Symphonic Metalers from Greece deliver on their debut album “Narcissist” an energetic bunch of songs that go straight under your skin.
The Rain I Bleed probably won´t have an easy stand in the metal scene at the moment. Because of the clear overdose of this kind of music with front women, the market has shrunk for these bands enormously, simply because people got sick of them. Anyhow, one has to say, that listening to this band is worth it. Indeed, it is not like you haven´t heard something like this before but the songs on “Narcissist” are just great.
Singer Mina reminds occasionally of Simone Simmons (Epica) and, here and there, you almost can´t tell both apart anymore. Thus, at least when it comes to the studio recordings, she definitely did a great job, vocally. Now she just has to convince live as well.
For their record, the newcomers could also win over Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) and Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetery) to help out with some guitar solos. The latter was also responsible for the mixing of the album. We can only hope that The Rain I Bleed somehow will manage to stick out from their competitors, and that they will convince lots of people with their music. It would be a pity when this band wouldn´t find any favour with symphonic metal fans.
